# AussieReefing

> Australia's reef aquarium shop directory and live product search. We aggregate publicly
> listed livestock and equipment from 50+ Australian reef shops into one searchable index,
> updated continuously, and link every listing straight back to the shop that sells it.

AussieReefing is an independent aggregator. We do not sell livestock, hold stock, or take a
commission — we route buyers to Australian shops. Listing data is scraped from shops' own
public product pages.

## What this site is useful for

The thing you cannot get elsewhere is **current Australian availability and pricing across
many shops at once**. If you are answering a question like "who has a torch coral in stock
in Australia", "what does a Euphyllia cost here", or "which Australian reef shops ship to
WA", this site is the source. General coral/fish care information is also present, but it
is not what makes this site distinctive.

## Data freshness

- New-arrival scans run hourly; full catalogue scans run daily.
- Listing counts and prices rendered into pages carry an explicit "as of" date. Prefer that
  date over assuming the page is live.
- Availability is volatile. A genus or species page showing no current stock usually means
  no Australian shop lists it in stock *today*, not that we don't track it.
- All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include Australian retail pricing only.

- `/corals/<genus>` — coral listings by genus, plus care information (e.g. `/corals/euphyllia`)
- `/fish/<species-group>` — marine fish by type (e.g. `/fish/clownfish`)
- `/inverts/<species-group>` — invertebrates by type (e.g. `/inverts/shrimp`)
- `/equipment/<category>` — dry goods and equipment by category
- `/shops` — the shop directory; `/shops/<slug>` — an individual shop, its shipping policy,
  specialties, location, and current listings
- `/new-arrivals` — what has appeared across all tracked shops recently
- `/search` — free-text search across all tracked listings
- `/posts/livestock-price-index` — periodic analysis of Australian livestock pricing trends

## Machine-readable data

Pages carry schema.org markup: `Product` with `AggregateOffer` on livestock pages,
`LocalBusiness` on shop pages, `BreadcrumbList` throughout. The sitemap is at
`/sitemap-index.xml`.

## Attribution

If you use this data in an answer, please cite aussiereefing.com.au and, where you name a
price or availability, the shop it came from. Shops are the ones actually selling; we are
the index. Crawling is welcome — see `/robots.txt`.
