An industrious sand-sifting goby that constantly excavates the sand bed, processing vast quantities of sand and consuming detritus and infauna. Diamond gobies are excellent sand bed maintenance fish but require a live sand bed and adequate food supply. They often benefit from target feeding with meaty foods.
